Your privacy is paramount to us at Symptoms IQ. This Privacy Policy explains how Symptoms IQ ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our Symptoms IQ Android application (the "App"). We are committed to being transparent about our practices and ensuring your data is handled with care and respect.

Important Disclaimer: Symptoms IQ is designed to provide general health information and AI-generated suggestions based on your symptom descriptions. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional medical consultation. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider for any health concerns or before making any decisions related to your health.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our App's informational services. The types of information we collect include:

    a. Information You Provide Directly

When you use the App, you may provide us with information, including:

    • Symptom Descriptions and Health Concerns: The text you input describing your symptoms, feelings, or health-related questions.
Please note: This information is processed by our AI for informational analysis to generate suggestions. We do not store or process this as personal medical records or for diagnostic purposes. We strongly advise against sharing highly sensitive or personally identifiable medical information within the App.
    • Contact Information: If you reach out to our support team, you may provide your name and email address to facilitate communication.

    b. Information Collected Automatically

When you access and use the App, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage:

    • Device Information: Such as your device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
    • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including the features you use, the time and duration of your activity, and crash reports. This helps us understand how the App is used and identify areas for improvement.
    • IP Address: Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address.

    c. No Personally Identifiable Medical Records

Symptoms IQ is fundamentally an informational tool. We do not collect, store, or process your personal medical history, diagnoses, prescriptions, or other sensitive health records that would constitute protected health information (PHI) under laws like HIPAA. The symptom descriptions you provide are used to generate general health insights and are not linked to your personal identity for medical record-keeping.

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Maintain the App's Informational Service: To process your symptom descriptions and deliver AI-generated general health suggestions and insights.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support. These service providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only for the purposes for which it was disclosed.
  • For Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) comply with a legal obligation, (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Symptoms IQ, (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the App or the public, or (d) protect against legal liability.
  • In Aggregated or Anonymized Form: We may share aggregated or anonymized data that does not identify you personally with third parties for various purposes, including research, analytics, and improving our services. For example, we might share statistics on common symptom queries (without linking them to individuals) to help health researchers.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain the information we collect for as long as necessary to provide the App's services, fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, and comply with our legal obligations. When your information is no longer needed for these purposes, we will delete or anonymize it.
